Alan Acosta Arevalo

First born of a Mexican immigrant father and a native

Houstonian mother on Saint Patrick’s day, Alan was a

typical kid who enjoyed extreme sports and music.

He’s passionate about life, business, and music.  A

confirmed globetrotter, Alan has traveled to Mexico,

Belize, Jamaica, Europe, and many places in the U.S.

Growing up, he remembers hearing the sounds of disco, soul, and rock from a Rock-ola juke box dad had in the house.  Then he got involved in break dancing in the early 80’s, the start of hip-hop.  He started playing drums in the junior high but that music didn’t groove like beats that energized bodies to move like an Egyptian or robot.

After graduating from Nimitz high school he continued studies in computer electronics and music.  While attending community college, he received a scholarship and played in the North Harris Symphonic band.  That was the beginning of his appreciation of  jazz.  He went back to school to study music and took lessons with great Jazz drummers such as Mike Lafaive, Rick Porter, and Sebastian Whittaker. Soon Alan was playing in the HCC jazz ensemble.

His love of computers and technology led him to study other musical outlets like DJ-ing, mixing, keyboards, and production.  His electronics and musical knowledge laid the foundation to start a recording studio called A3 Productions in 2001.

Alan has played with lots of great musicians and bands like Flash Mob, The Global Movement and The Guilt Trip.  He also records his original music and collaborates on projects with other musicians.  He says, “Music is a lifelong passion for me. I endeavor to create a unique sound that I hope will provide a powerful for the music enthusiast.”
